Kekova Boat Tour from Kaş and Kalkan
A good share of our guests are staying in Kaş or Kalkan and drive over for the day. There is no transfer — you come in your own car — and it is a simpler morning than it sounds: one road along the coast, and you park at the quay. Here is the whole of it, so you can judge the drive before you book.
The drive
Both towns lie west along the same coast road. Coming from Kalkan you pass through Kaş and carry straight on.
The set-off time counts straight back from boarding at 09:45 and allows nothing for breakfast, fuel or photographs — set off earlier than that if you want any of them. On a private charter the boat is yours and waits; the shared day tour does not.
The whole road, drawn from map data rather than by hand. Kaş sits on the route: if you are staying there, you join where its pin is.
However you get to this coast
Every road along this shore ends up at the same quay. From there it is not a road any more — it is the boat, and forty minutes of water.

Two harbours. Two very different days.
Kekova is reached from two harbours, and both visit the same bays. The difference is distance — and distance is time spent travelling instead of swimming.
Staying in Kaş? Çayağzı is 48 km away by road, about 45 minutes. Leave at 09:00 and you are aboard at 09:45 — in the water twenty minutes later.
Sea distances measured from each harbour, timed at the speed a loaded day boat holds door to door.
Parking at Çayağzı
There is a municipal car park at the harbour, and it does not fill the way the town does. Drive right down to the boat first, unload your bags and your cool box, then take the car back up — nobody minds, and it saves carrying everything along the quay. The season rates are on the price page.
Where we meet
Çayağzı yacht harbour in Demre, about ten minutes by car from the town centre. Poseidon 07 lies on the quay with her name across the stern. If you cannot spot us, call — we would far rather answer the phone than have you walking up and down.
Open in Google MapsWhat people from Kaş and Kalkan ask
Do you collect us from our hotel?
No. We do not run transfers, and every guest from Kaş and Kalkan arrives in their own car. It keeps the day yours: you set off when you like, and at the end of it you are not waiting on a minibus.
Why drive from Kalkan instead of taking a boat from there?
Because of what lies between them. Kekova is about 26 nautical miles from Kalkan harbour — 52 there and back — and a loaded day boat holds about five knots door to door. That is roughly 10 hours under way before anybody has swum, which is why Kekova is not run as a day trip out of Kalkan at all, and why a charter long enough to do it properly would cost several times what the day costs from here. The road covers the same ground in a fraction of the time and leaves the day itself for Kekova.
Is the drive hard?
Not hard, but not quick either. It is the D400 the whole way, sealed and well kept, sea on one side and pine forest on the other. It bends a great deal, which is why the distances above take longer than the kilometres suggest.
Could we come for an evening trip instead?
Plenty of people do. The sunset and moonlight trips leave late enough that the drive is an easy one after a morning on the beach, and you are back on the road before it gets late.
What if we are running behind?
Call as soon as you know. On a private charter the boat is yours, so we simply leave when you arrive. The shared day tour carries other guests and sails at its scheduled time.
